Fall family fun & Great GF Eats at Cafe Sarina, Georgetown, MA

Updated: Jan 13, 2020

OK, fellow New Englanders, it really felt like Fall there for a sec last week. While the weather was briefly cool, I paid a visit to Cafe Sarina at Nunans Florist & Greenhouses. This is a pretty fantastic set up if you ask me .... where else can you find great Gluten Free food, shop for your fall floral and decorative items (think Mums, hay bails, pumpkins and so much more), play mini golf AND in true NE fashion, enjoy some Richardsons Ice Cream? Dine inside their spacious cafe or outdoors on the large, sunny patio. Just off I-95 in Georgetown, MA, Cafe Sarina is a worth a stop, whether you are local or just traveling through New England.

Cafe Sarina opened it's doors this summer and I have been swooning over their crave-worthy social media posts these past few months! They are a scratch kitchen, that uses locally sourced and organic ingredients AND they take special dietary needs very seriously (love, love, LOVE!). While they are not a dedicated Gluten Free facility, each member of their staff is "trained to handle special diets and allergies with the utmost care". Their menus clearly denote items that are Gluten Free, Dairy Free, and Contain Nuts. Manager & Head Baker, Katie Hickey was kind enough to stop by and chat with me, and personally confirmed their strict allergy protocols. She also shared what every GF person longs to hear....they have a dedicated Gluten Free FRYER (I know!!). While my friend and I enjoyed some delicious and hearty veggie and protein bowls (trying to be healthy!), Katie treated us to some of their delish GF chicken fingers in homemade honey mustard dipping sauce...SO good! As always, Be sure to share your dietary needs when ordering.

Green Goddess Bowl (GD /DF): Lemony Kale + Quinoa, toasted sunflower seeds, marinated cucumbers + tomatoes, shaved red onion, hummus, baby kale, green goddess dressing

The Green Goddess Bowl (I added grilled chicken) was really good. It looked a lot prettier, but I started to dig in before I snapped a pic..oops! ;)

The chicken fingers were ah-mazing. The GF coating is so perfectly crispy!

In addition to salads & bowls, the menu offers grass fed burgers, turkey burgers (GF buns available), Cold sandwiches available on GF bread, and House Specialities like soups, chili, and GF/DF mac & cheese made with cashew sauce and GF pasta (must try that the next time!) with the option to add chicken, bacon or broccoli. They also have a brunch menu and a kids menu, great made to order coffee drinks and last but not least they serve alcohol...beer (I did not confirm if there was a GF option) , wine & hard cider (GF!). Check out their menus for yourself here.

While I was a little disappointed that there were no GF baked goods available the day I visited, I will certainly be back. Be sure to follow them on facebook & instagram @cafesarina to see what they are cooking up each day.

I couldn't leave without a visit to Nunans! I scooped up some beautiful Mums & fall decor....

Love these cute little pumpkins! My Mums are just starting to open up. So many colors and sized to choose from! Don't you just LOVE fall?
